Alligator seen on a road in North Carolina

It is odd for an alligator to be wandering on the road in Rowan County in North Carolina which is in the western part of the state when a deputy representing the Rowan County Sheriffs Office (RCSO) on Sunday called the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission for assistance.
The officials with the NCWRC were able to capture the alligator and take the animal to the zoo in the eastern part of the state for safekeeping.
It remains a mystery who the alligator wound up in the western side of the state other than maybe someone took the alligator away from his home to Rowan County which is located north of Charlotte.

Only a small one out for a walk without his mother, unless the mother was also hiding somewhere, off to the side.
Good to get it off of the road, before it is turned into a purse, or a wallet, by getting squashed.

It's exceptionally weird for a gator to be in the western part of the state, because that's where the mountains are! We keep the ocean on the east -- and Florida about 600 miles south. He's a small fella, though - I wonder if someone got a gator for a pet and he outgrew the bathtub...
