...I can't. It's a rather somber afternoon.
Chilly's journey on this earth is over. He crossed rainbow bridge a couple hours ago. He went peacefully, at George's feet where he wanted to be. When I came out, he'd fallen off the couch. George wants to have him cremated, So, I'll call the vet here in a little bit.

My deepest condolences to you and your husband. It's always hard losing a furry family member, I remember losing Jonesy last year. She crossed the rainbow bridge peacefully beside the bed where she wanted to be. She was close to 17 years old and a lot of fun to live with. She would sleep on the chair and boy that cat could snore!!!! I would get a phone call and the person on the other end of the line would comment about how my husband could snore....they couldn't believe that it was the cat until I sent a video over the phone.
I know how hard it is, but try to remember all the good times you had with Chilly. When I buried Jonesy I wrapped her in her favorite blanket and planted a special plant at her head, I knew she would love that. I feed the neighborhood cats near her resting spot so she has plenty of company (My life doesn't revolve around my furry kids....if you believe that I have swamp land in New Mexico for sale.

That was not how I wanted to begin my weekend but then neither did you. Virtual hugs. Many blessings to you both and you know he will be with you in spirit and you will meet up again, Now you have all those precious memories,

Coming out to start my morning routine, to find him on the table I use to George's tube feeds, had been a shock to say the least. Apparently, when he crossed, he wasn't able to stay on the couch. Unlike Precious, at least Chilly didn't mess himself. Made it easier to wrap him up, which apparently I didn't do that great a job because he started to slip out of the towel. But, he never liked his head covered so....

I am so very sorry. You gave him a good life, and for a kitty, he lived a lot of years, but that doesn't make the loss any easier for you and for George.
He wasn't in pain, his body just gave up the fight. What a special pet he was to you both. I am glad he got to be with you peacefully at the end. Big hugs, Kayla.
