I just discovered that our next door neighbor(at the lot)became widowed in April, 2023. I graduated with her older sister, Sallie. It never entered my head what was going on. She is grieving over the loss of her husband!
Sallie and Dennis take her out for dinner, quite often. I'm ashamed that I hadn't reached out, with a card or a personal visit. I've known these ladies almost all of my life!
Yet, through COVID I lost track of many people. We were not able to communicate as before the pandemic struck. And now I find out, many women I knew before have become widows
I probably owe her an apology, for not responding for over a year

Pandemic or not, people loose touch over time. Try not to let it get to you. If it's meant to be it will be.

Yes, and now that I know what's going on, I can reach out to her with kindness!

@kaylachan We all crave kindness, yet at certain times some need a little more.

Don't blame yourself. Now you can get in touch with her and offer her your kindness. Have a good week.

Reach out to her when you can...take something to eat, maybe bake something or take some homemade soup, etc. It means a lot to people when someone does that, they are suddenly alone in life and need contact with others. I'm sure you follow the saying ''Be blessed, be a blessing!'' which to me is oh, so true. So often when you give, you get back in warm fuzzies and good feelings.

Yes, if we aren't a blessing to others, we are cheating them and ourselves, also! My mother always reached out to people, with home baked goods:) Debby needs to know, that I care! xo

Yes, she is grieving which will take some time, for healing. They were happily married for 46 years!
