Haynes Academy student Hudson Mobley who is 17 years old was recently by the American Red Cross on Friday for Hudson's actions of saving the life of a man who suffered a heart attack while playing golf at a country club in Kenner Louisiana last October by giving the heart attack victim chest compressions on the victim after he asked for help from the eyewitnesses to get medical help.
Mobley was working at the Chateau Golf and Country Club when he saw a crowd gathered at a driving range. A bystander gave Hudson an automated external defibrillator (AED) to start a heart that stopped beating.
Hudson took first aid classes with the American Red Cross as part of his training to become a lifeguard which came into good use to save the life of the man at the golf course who is alive and well thanks to the actions of Hudson.
Kenneth St. Charles who is the chief executive of the Louisiana Red Cross gave Hudson a certificate of merit signed by President Joe Biden who had been in the region a few days earlier.
Hudson is grateful that his training in first aid saved the life of a stranger.

It is good that the training was not just in his head, but he could use it practically too, and to save a life. He had confidence to use what he knew. A certificate signed by the President, he will treasure that all of his life.
