Palm Beach Fire Rescue (PBFR) firefighters came to the rescue of six ducklings that were trapped inside of a storm drain on Saturday. The PBFR firefighters worked together to lift the heavy storm grate with a 4 x 4 post and an extrication chain and a pool net to get the six ducklings of the storm drain and reunite them with their mom who was nearby. The ducklings and their mom went on their way safe and sound. How did the ducklings fall into the drain is not known at all. Link is abc 3340.com/news/offbeat/q...

I have seen on YouTube some videos where ducklings are walking along and fall down into storm drains. They are small and fall between the bars. What is lovely is watching people who witness them falling in, helping them out and placing them back by they momma. Glad the firefighters were able to help these ducklings out

It was lucky that they could be rescued before storm waters swept them away.

That is a good question since I doubt it was rain related.
