An expensive pair of sneakers

Everybody is raving about ON sneakers. My mom‘s cousin-in-law has them and her friend has them too. She finally got it for herself and wanted me to have a pair as well.
I went ahead and ordered them from Bloomingdale’s. With tax, the total came out to around $153. That is very expensive for a pair of sneakers.
I never would have bought them had my mom not insisted on it and offered to pay for them. I have not worn them yet. I hope they are as comfortable as everybody claims them to be.

That's a lot of money for a pair of shoes. How do you all aford that? I get sticker shock if I spend more than five dollars on a shirt.

My mom is paying for them. I would not get them otherwise. I think it is crazy to spend that much on sneakers. But then again my (male) cousin wears only sneakers and he has a closet full of them. For him they are like shoes. I bet they are all expensive.
There are sneakers that cost hundreds of dollars. That is just crazy!

@lovebuglena I agree. I used to wear sneakers a kid, and I don't think we spent more than ten bucks.

HOLY cow, that is expensive, I would make them last as LONG as I could at that price
like wear them on certain occasions not every day, like special day type shoes.

There are sneakers that are way more expensive than these, which is crazy. I'd rather spend that money on something else but my mom insists on me having them and she will pay.

I agree. I have yet to wear them outside. I was thinking of taking them to my mom's house and trying to walk in them on the carpet and make the final decision on whether to keep them or not.

They ought to be gold-plated for that price. WOW! I wear Sketchers. They cost plenty for my budget, are so, so comfortable for my feet, and last for a long time. I will no doubt just stick to them, and I like that they offer a buy one/get one pair every once in a while, that's when I get mine.

I have a pair of Sketchers my mom bought me. They are those without laces. Super comfy. Not sure how much she paid for them but they definitely weren't as much as these sneakers.
I had bought myself a pair of Nike sneakers before. They were on sale and way cheaper than these but I had to return them because they were damaged. I ended up losing the money I paid for shipping as shipping is non-refundable.

I have two pair I wear that are fairly new, my oldest son bought them for me. I have the slip-on type as well, I don't like laces. They are beyond wonderful, the best shoes I've ever worn for comfort. They look good, too.

@lovebuglena My newest pair (when the slipins came out) are what I call "my new shoes". I have worn them for almost 2 years nonstop except when it is too warm and I use my flip flops.

Me too. It’s one thing to try them on in a room then actually walk in them outside. Have yet to do that.

The only time I pay that much for a pair of shoes is when I buy running shoes. That's the one place I don't want to cut corners, because pounding the pavement on a long run can be hell on the feet and knees if you're not wearing the right pair of shoes.
You want to know what's funny? The absolute most comfortable pair of shoes I have ever owned I bought at Walmart about 10 years ago, and they were $9. I got them just to wear around the house for doing chores and working in the yard and such. But they were so damn comfortable that I ended up wearing them everywhere. They were probably the best pair of shoes I have ever had, and they lasted a long, long time.

@lovebuglena It’s a no-name brand, some cheap Chinese made shoes. And they are of surprisingly good quality for the cheap price. And they’ve held up well. I wear them to work a lot and they barely show signs of wear and tear.

@moffittjc as long as they are comfy and in great condition doesn’t matter what brand they are and how much they cost.

Wow! What brand were they? $9 is way too cheap. I'd think for that price (unless it was a name brand at a huge discount) the shoes would be super uncomfortable and would quickly get damaged.
