I mentioned in my last post that I was going to pick up some empty plant pots from our local hardware store. They had a lot of old ones free for the taking and I was able to get quite a few in a variety of sizes. I might keep a few but most I’ll give to my sister-in-law. While I was there, I bought a few more plants for my vertical garden. I got two that will hang down and I’ve put them in the bottom row. One is a Senecio or ‘string of pearls’. I think the other is a Kalanchoe. I have a ticket for a Kalanchoe but it doesn’t give the species. The photo is of a petunia plant I bought which has a purple and a red flower on the one stem. They both come off the same stem although I wasn’t able to capture that.

The pockets seem to dry out quite quickly so I've been giving them a misting twice a day.

It's interesting to see you growing plants that are sold as houseplants here. Looking forward to the pictures!

I guess it's something to do with the warmer climate.

All the kalanchoes I've ever seen grow up, like a little bush, not down. This one is about done blooming for now.

Look at the size of that leaf!! It's humungous! There are lots of kalanchoes I think, but maybe the one I think is a kalanchoe isn't.

I've been repotting some plants today too. Perhaps I'll eventually turn into a gardener like my Mum.

They are pretty petunias. Particularly pretty to me, as we enter the autumn season, and you are showing spring flowers. I love it.

@JudyEv I can read that it is evident in some of your posts. I love that though, it reminds me that we are only half a year away from what you have.

I keep mine too and usually end up with heaps. When I walked away with the free ones, I passed a man brining empty ones to add to the pallet.

Petunia plants are pretty, but their scent is not pleasant, particularly after the rain.

@JudyEv I immediately spot petunias because of their smell.
