Alka Yagnik who has to her credit 4 lakh songs has lost her hearing forever which means she can no longer sing nor listen to her own recorded songs. This indeed is a tragic situation not to mention how her fans will no longer hear her singing nor will she sing for any films. She is quite young and I can well understand what she must be going through. This is attributed to the constant use of head phone. https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/7/75/AlkaYagnik.jpg Image credit:

That's sad. Having headphones on high can cause hearing loss.

That must be devastating to her. I have heard of this happening to a few musicians.

That’s very sad. We have a number of famous singers in America who’ve suffered hearing loss over the year (like Huey Lewis and Frankie Valli). I wonder if a cochlear implant could help her.

She must be trying every available source to get her hearing back.

Usually when we increase the volume of our headphones we are warned that it can damage our hearing if the + button is continuously pressed until it exceeds our hearing capacity.
