Well, a rainy one, but a good one. George and I have been chilling on the couch watching a new to us show, The Real Love boat. So far it's not too bad. Although, I normally don't watch the romance comptions shows very often. But, this is kind of cool. They hit all thease ports that seem intersting to me. I just did George's second tube of the day and sometimes I feel like we're getting faster at it. The laundry is done I just have to empty the dryer. I have plenty of time to do that tomorrow.

I really wasn't a big fan of the original Love Boat show, it was kind of...cheesy? to me, anyway. But I know many people loved it. I didn't know there was such a thing as 'The Real Love Boat' so I learned something new. As long as you both enjoy it, that's all that matters.

I didn't until I did a search to make sure there wasn't something missing. Shows like the Brady Bunch are missing a lot of episodes. Doesn't surprise me, as it's not unusal for some episodes to get banned later and kept from re-release.
George is one of those peple who still clings to older television. Most of his favorite progrems are from the 50, 60, 70 ... you get the idea.
I wasn't sure what I thought of the Love Boat at first, because it was one of those shows that was like three stories in one. I often found those hard to follow. However, I got into some of the stories. I also like how back then, it was progressive for it's time. They showed blind people, people in wheelchairs and even one nero-devergent person. And, each character was treated with respect. There was no stigma or sterotyping. Hell, one of the stories was about a woman who felt sorry for herself because she recently lost her eyesight. And, her husband was like.... Dining room is down the hall and to the right. meet me there.' basically forcing her to get over herself and prove to herself losing her eyesight isn't the end of the world.
Today, while they show diverse characters in television, the quality has gone down. Often treated like a joke, or like they are lesser beings. Instead of making it feel natural and less of a big deal then it is. But, blame social media for that.

@MarieCoyle The only modron shows we watch are our cooking shows. Everything else is from way back when. As long as it's in color, I'm fine. Black and white has to be viewed in the daytime otherwise it's too hard to look at the screen. It doesn't auto adapt like my laptop does.

Some of the old shows are definitely worth watching. I haven’t thought about The Love Boat in years.
The other night the son was channel surfing and came up with My Three Sons “ which is really from way back when. He said, Mom, it’s kind of cheesy but he liked the Uncle Charlie character.

@kaylachan I know it’s common knowledge; that’s why I asked. But I can understand enjoying something for the scenery.

Well, I mean no disrepect, but it's common knowledge that reality t.v. is scripted and staged to an extent. Everyone knows that's common sense. But, it doesn't take away from the enjoyment of it. The places they visit are real. The fact they are filming on an actual ship, well the shots they get are so pretty. I've seen enough reality shows that I can tell what's staged and what's not. Plus, since it's a compition show, some of the "staging" is spelled out for you.

@AmbiePam I find all the ports they visit to be pretty interesting. Some of the challenges though, you'd never get me to do.

@celticeagle Yeah. He's been drinking a lot of milk. He even got himself up, tried to pour himself a glass, and then changed his underwear.

Someone took the idea f The Love Boat and decided to do one of those dating reality shows on a real cruise ship that's traveling to places like France Italy, Greace and roam just to name a few.
