For those not familiar with 60's Rock Icon Jimi Hendrix and his exquisite guitar playing he definitely had a way with the ladies. As a matter of fact, Jimi really appreciated a woman's beauty which he expressed in his song "Foxy Lady." So, with a lady in mind, here are some other "Lady-titled" songs which made my favorites playlist...
Your comments and musings on these picks, and your own favorite "feminine titled" favorites or music trivia always welcome...
***FOXY LADY- JIMI HENDRIX (1967)
Jimi had some interesting tunes including "Purple Haze, Hey Joe, and The Wind Cries Mary." He was considered arguably the greatest instrumentalist in the history of rock music. "Foxy Lady or Foxey Lady" as it was spelled in the U.S. was an original Hendrix composition inspired possibly by Roger Daltry's girlfriend and future wife, or by one of Jimi's girlfriends. Whoever it was her beauty definitely influenced the artist.
-Do you have a favorite Jimi Hendrix tune? I always like listening to his recording of "Hey Joe."
TRIVIA CHALLENGE
***Now for our trivia music challenge for those who like to play along. See if you can guess the artists, songs or facts. Words in "quote marks" provide valuable clues!
1. This Country music star took a big "GAMBLE(R) when he left the band "The First Edition" to pursue a solo career. His "female-titled" song was his "biggest solo hit." His duet with Dolly Parton, "Islands in the Stream," also topped the charts at #1. This performer says he love's songs that are female orientated. This song's lyrics definitely focuses on this girl: " I'm your knight in shining armor and I love you, you have made me what I am, and I am yours." This artist's distinct voice allowed him to crossover onto the pop charts with tunes like "Lucille."
-Do you know the name of this singer and his lady-titled song?
2. This song was recorded by the band "Sugarloaf" in 1970. The tune was "about the girlfriend" the lead singer was seeing at the time. The inspiration and title of the song was the "color of the girl's eyes." This was the band's biggest hit charting at #3. This band was not a one-hit wonder, (they had another top tenner with the song ("Don't Call Us, We'll Call You"), but this tune was the "only one" which received any air play from radio stations.
-Can you name the "lady-titled song I'm talking about?
3. Jimi Hendrix wrote a song with the word "PURPLE" in the title. (No not "Purple Rain" that was Prince, lol).
-Do you know the name of that Hendrix classic tune?
Ok, let's "not be a lady killer" when solving these song and artists answers. If you're stuck and need additional hints just let me know in your response. I'll be glad to supply one. Or, as Stevie Wonder would say, "Don't You Worry About a Thing."
Thanks for reading and responding to my music post!!! I will return with a new edition in the near future. Hope you can wait till then, lol. Stay tuned...

1. That would be Roger Kenny, or something like that.
Lionel Richie wrote that, but this “Lady” doesn’t care for it.
2. Green eyed lady, lovely lady, don’t call us, John Paul and George.
3. Purple hay! Purple hey! I’m in a haze. ‘Scuse me while I kiss this guy.
