Rescuers with the Tucson Wildlife Center answered a call on Friday August 9 that a badger was trapped in a soccer net and the animal needed to be released from the trap.
After the badger was rescued by the animal rescuers, the badger was taken to a medical center where the badger had been treated for dehydration, a cut and swelling in the leg that had been caught in the net.
The animal rescue officials are asking persons who play soccer games to take down the net when not in use since badgers are night creatures,
The good news is that the badger is alive and well in Tucson Arizona.

Who would have thought that a badger would get caught in a soccer net?
A lot of thought must be given to these things, and this sort of trap should not be allowed to happen, as we must be more aware of these types of hazards for animals.

I hope the badger recovers from it's dehydration and injuries. I'm glad it was discovered and released.

Wow! An animals trapped like that will often injure themselves severely while trying to escape. Reminds me of the fishing nets which trap SeaLife with deadly results. Glad the badger made it out alright.
