A waterfall in NYC

I found this little gem when I was browsing the web not long ago. Have wanted to come here for a while. Finally, I made it here, taking my mom with me. Who would’ve thought that in such a busy city in between two buildings there would be a small outdoor space with trees, plants, and a waterfall. Plus table and chairs where you can relax and even enjoy some food. This is Greenacre Park. It’s located on 51st street between 3rd and 2nd avenues.

I visited that park last time I was in NYC, back in 2018! It's only 4 blocks from St. Patrick's Cathedral, and 5 blocks from the Rockefeller Center! It is such a hidden little gem. I have found in all my visits to the Big Apple that there are numerous little hidden gems right inside the thick of the urban sprawl, if you take the time to look for them!

@lovebuglena I could be wrong on my dates, I did visit NYC during the pandemic to visit my ex girlfriend to make sure she was okay. I've been to NYC so many times I lose track of what trip was what! haha

@lovebuglena I'm sure there are dozens--if not more--places or parks in NYC that you haven't heard of or seen before. It's a very big city!

I had no idea it existed back in 2018. I thought they did it during the pandemic.

It's so nice to sit in the shade and listen to the waterfall. Very soothing.

@LindaOHio we chose what we wanted and picked a color for each. Decided to just do living room windows, kitchen window, and sliding door. May do stairs window as it’s not covered but not totally sure yet. Depends on total cost. Bedrooms have blinds, though old, so will hold off for now.

Yes. It was a surprise for me. Thought this place was new but turns out it’s not. I’ve been living in NYC since the early 90s but I never knew about it until recently.

@lovebuglena it is amazing that there are always new things to Discover even in places that we think we know well.
