Question of the Day: ***Have you ever sold a collectible from the past and received money for it? Have you ever thrown anything away that you found out later was worth money? When I notice an article written about decades old items having now become collectibles, I just have to see what I shouldn't have not thrown out. As with many kids in my neighborhood and at school, collecting baseball cards was a big deal growing up for me. And I had quite a batch of them from the 60's. When I went off to college my mom did a housecleaning and unknowingly those cards became a victim of the trash bin. Ouch! Anyway, that one wasn't on me. But now let's fast forward to the 80's and see if I'm or (your) at fault for tossing away any of those rare treasures. Here are some items that you just might want to search around the house for, if you still got them: *1. Super Mario Bros (1985)- I had Ninetendo and this game but sadly, the value is in having it still in the wrapper. Now really... am I going to buy something and just look at it, or play. -This was listed on E-Bay for 7,999.99 in the original packaging. *2. Astronaut B Pez Dispenser (1982)- This Pez dispenser was designed for the 1982 World's Fair in Knoxville, Tennessee. Gee, I still have my Snoopy (Peanuts) Pez dispenser just maybe... -Probably not, as there were only 2 of the Astronaut ones made. Someone did cash theirs in for a massive $32,000. Yikes! *3. Panerai Compass (1984)- Before the advent of Google Maps your trusty compass could lead you in the right direction, -And for $23,890 that Panerai compass must have given "great" directions. *4. Happy Holidays Barbie (1988)- I would bet other Barbie dolls are valuable collectibles, but this one was sold for $2,000. MERRY CHRISTMAS!!! -Now that's one stocking stuffer. Wow! We used to hit the garage sales hard and have collected many good pieces. I have ended up donating a lot of them; but we still have some left. Have a good weekend.

Have you ever looked at the value of those pieces you have, and will you eventually sell them Linda? What have you collected?

During the pandemic, I sold all my Agatha Christies' collected books. I do not feel regret because they are paperbacks and planning to have the hard cover novels soon.

@dgobucks226 I also loved them. They were my favorite characters that I used to watch with my siblings and childhood friends before.

@dgobucks226 My friend went all the way to Europe to buy a Cabbage Patch Doll. I am sure she still has it in its original box.

Yes, who knew comics and baseball cards would become so valuable. We used to put those cards on our bicycle spokes. I don't have anything like that at home. If I did they became part of the junk bin years ago.
