Travel was a passion with me and the conducted tours I took always put us in 5 star hotels and there in the rest room were shampoos and conditioners. I picked them all up and used soap that I brought with me from home. Back home I used them all going back in my memory to the great holidays I spent in all those countries This tip was given to me by one of our friends who had great experience travelling Now, now do not get me wrong I did not rob. They were mine by right Have you ever picked anything that actually did not belong to you from hotels? What was it?

I take the sample shampoos and miniature soap bars, those are there to be used. I surely would not take a towel or a bathrobe.

@allknowing - I would never steal what is not mine. Hotels owners are complaining of more and more tourists stealing towels and bath robes.

When I was a child I would take the free shampoos and soap. Occasionally, I’d take the stationary there for us to use. Once I was a teenager I quit taking anything. But I just looked at it like my parents paid for the room, and those things were just a free bonus! You know what the number one stolen item of hotel rooms is in the United States? The Gideon Bible put in the drawers of hotel/motel rooms. I mean it’s stealing, which is wrong, but at the same time thieves certainly need to read the Bible!

No rooms we stayed in had the bible and yes those thieves would perhaps give up robbing once they started reading the bible (lol)

I took a towel from a hotel once. I didn't mean to, but I needed a towel so I took it.

I am sure you must have felt odd doing it as that is kind of robbing (lol)

I used to collect these too, then someone told me to not be too greedy and I stopped. But I agree there is nothing wrong with doing so. I never took anything that I didn't own, and hopefully I never left something that belonged to me. You know, karma is always behind the corner.
