What's for din? October 10th, 2024

As I said earlier, she child and I made a cake after school today. So of course the kids had to have cake. Wasn't it Marie Antoinette who said "Let them eat cake?" The French do know about their pastries and sweets. Can't disappoint them. Lol, but we ate hotdogs for dinner. Yep. Hotdogs and cake. I twinged something in my shoulder and didn't feel like cooking. If this doesn't improve by tomorrow, there will be a trip to the urgent care to see what's going on. Anyway. That's what was for dinner tonight. What about in your neck of the woods?

I wasn’t too hungry so I thought, oh, I’ll have one of those food items I have to test. Gross. On the plus side, I won’t be hungry the rest of the night. Truthfully though, I just need to suck it up and get groceries.

Are they frozen? or are they like a cupboard staple, they look delicious. I've had the truffle one.

@thislittlepennyearns No, not frozen. They’re like VERY crispy cookies, only savory. The rosemary garlic isn’t bad, but the other two didn’t agree with me. Those two taste the same also, which is weird. Were yours like almost burnt crispy? They’re tiny little things.

I made a pot roast, homemade mashed potatoes and gravy, carrots, and salad. Son lapped it up and had seconds…and I am sure tomorrow he will want the leftovers. I ate a piece of the meat, some carrots, and salad. I will leave the potatoes and the gravy for him, I don’t need them! He said it was really good, so I was glad he enjoyed it. Sorry about your shoulder. Hope it feels better soon.

@MarieCoyle I was just giving you a hard time. I knew what you meant. I want to make beef stew, and white chicken chilli too.

@thislittlepennyearns Sorry, typo I was using my phone and I think it changes my words! Or else I’m just clumsy! A friend bought a half a beef for the freezer. She brought us two roasts and a bunch of good meaty soup bones, about a month ago. The roasts are family size, so I cut them in half for just us. I agree, all red meat is expensive now, everywhere. P.S.I fixed Joe.

I like cake, not sure about hotdogs as well! I actually prefer chicken hotdogs. I had an excellent chicken madras curry for tea

Chris won't eat anything but beef hotdogs, or the cheddar filled ones.

I think we're having roast pork again for dinner. Suits me. One of my favourite meals.
