A Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) Officer showed a heart of compassion for a puppy that was tied on a pole on Interstate 75 on Wednesday near Tampa as Hurricane Milton was on his way to the area. The police officer had to act fast to save the dog from drowning since the water level on the Bruce B Downs Boulevard exit was around the chest of the animal. The dog was rescued by the police officer. The police are asking residents not to leave their pets to be tied at pole since it is the responsibility of the pet owner to take their pets with them when they evacuate an area when a storm comes. It is a shame that some humans are heartless dealing with the welfare of their pets when disasters strike. Link is msn.com/en-us/news/oth...

That is a good question since if that my dog, I would take him or her with me.

The poor dog. It certainly is a shame that people can't do better with their pets. Some shouldn't have pets or be allowed around them.

I was so glad when I saw this story yesterday that the dog was saved. Only a heartless human would do that.

That would be a fitting punishment for the dog owner.

I am in agreement with you that the act of leaving the dog tied to a post in the rain is heartless.

I would like to tie that person to a pole. That was inexcusable. I'm so glad the puppy was rescued.

I know of a female model and sports performer who lives in Orlando saying that a person who ties up dogs in a storm is evil.
