I know you all have been waiting on the edge of your seats for the next installment of pantry essentials. Well wait no longer. It's time for stop number twelve on this taste bud adventure. Just about everybody likes jerky. It is in just about every cultures food. I've seen a cornucopia of different animals in jerky form over the years, including bacon jerky which has gotten very popular down here. There is actually a store at the mall in Destin that sells just jerky. It makes sense why you would keep some in the pantry, because it's dried meat. It is already ready to last a long time. It is high in protein and most people like it. Seems like a win already.... ...and it is. This one is just a slightly different flavor. ...that flavor being squid. That's right. You read that right. Dried squid. The about product information tells me that it is grilled squid jerky. In case the grilled flavor appeals to you more than another way of cooking/drying squid. So.... myLot land. Are you willing to look past that this is squid jerky and taste it anyway? You already know my answer. Of course I am.

I can't stand ANYTHING that has a strong fishy Smell or Taste. I even put lemon juice in my Tuna Salad.

Tuna has no fishy taste. That sucks, because you live in a great area for fresh seafood. Tuna doesn't even taste like fish.

@thislittlepennyearns Some brands have a fishy taste to them, and the ones in oil do sometimes as well. I use Chicken of The Sea. I LOVE seafood...Love me some Grouper, some Sea Trout, Shrimp, oysters, but I have had to send a grouper basket back and a Grouper sandwich as the fish was not fresh and you could Smell it and taste it. Fish HAS to be fresh for me to eat it. I have only found one brand of frozen shrimp that I will eat..Fisherman's Wharf..never had any that had the fishy smell/taste to them..other brands I have. I have had Fresh tuna steaks and they were wonderful...has the texture of steak.

@Ghostlady If you want fishy taste, I can give you a list of fish. Tuna does not have a fishy taste. Any of them.

That;s funny. There is a town in Alabama called Opp that does a rattlesnake rodeo every spring, and they have rattlesnake jerky. I'll have to get some for you next year.

I grew up on the Asian snacks, so I'd go for this ! We had something like this - and dried cuttlefish too.

I believe in storing enough food to get through an extended emergency but dried squid has never been on my list.

I know people love jerky of all kinds, but I just don't care for it. So this would hold no charms for me...I honestly probably wouldn't taste it, but not because it's squid--because it's jerky.
