Would you go to a party for free pizza to pre-plan your funeral?

Evidently, this is a ''thing'' now. I got this card in the mail. It's not the first one I've received, but it's the latest one. I stopped and thought it over. And thought some more, so I did a google search on it. Evidently it is the thing for funeral home directors to do now, have a pizza party to entice people to pre-plan their funerals, display their fancy caskets, decide on flowers and such, and what type of service you want to have. One of them tried to be funny in the description, but...''Pie before you die'' seems to be in rather poor taste to me? Would you go to a party for free pizza to decide on funeral arrangements for yourself? Would you even be hungry after deciding on the casket you want, or the urn, and everything else?

that is kind of weird marketing plan. It is like celebrating your ending

Yes, to me it’s always been weird. I guess it allows you to pick out everything you want, etc. I personally do not want to be viewed on display in a casket. I don’t want anyone remembering me that way, especially not my family.

@MarieCoyle yes, same with me. It is better to be remembered when you are still alive

@MarieCoyle yes, I would rather people remember someone of what they do or the memories they share

You never know where business will come from. Though I personally HATE such things.

@MarieCoyle I also won't attend. But not because it's not needed or necessary. But because of doesn't give a good taste.

@abhi_bangal Totally classless in my opinion. Desperate for a sale and wanting to reel in the people to make some money. I think this is a totally bad idea, myself. Just a big NO.

This is the first time I have heard of this! Is business so uneven they have to resort to pizza parties? Are too many people opting for cremation or green burials?

Hmm, not very dignified, but I have gone to luncheons that help you sign up for cremation services. It was better than pizza though.

A 'thing' huh? I guess if I needed to make those plans I might go. I already have it all taken care of so no worries. The saying isn't nice at all.

I find it all rather classless, if anything.

I know what you mean...what's the point? It's just our earthly body, and it isn't going to be used anymore.
