Purple hands

So, I had a small Greek salad for lunch I added some red onions to it, but had to unpeel one first. Later in I saw purple splotches all over my hand. I was thinking .where did that come from...then I remembered the onion. Have you found mysterious unknown stains on yourself?

Gardening without gloves the other day, I found some red stains on my fingers . . . well it's exactly what you think it was. I guess there were thorns on the bush I was cutting - I didn't see red when I got pricked . . . I guess I leaked later on

Yes, the red ones have very dark peels.

I didn't know red onions would also do that, but I'm familiar with beets.
I'm always tempted to use them as lipstick.

Yeah, or blush.
I think you can use red onion skins as a natural dye.
