I enjoy bells. Their sound and their look in churches and more personal locations is nice. Their sound is so unique. I decided to find some interesting facts about the bell. * The oldest bell in a church is located at the St. Lawrence Church in Ipswich, Suffolk, UK cast in the 1440s. * The heaviest functioning bell was the Mingun Bell in Myanmar. It weighs 199,999 pounds. In 2000 the Bell of Good Luck took its place. It weighs 116 tons and is the Foquan Temple, Pingdingshan, Henan, China. * The bell with the best tone seems to be the Corinthian bells wind chimes because of their unique design and construction. They are hand-tuned which makes for a harmonious and beautiful sound. When I think of bells I recall the Hunchback of Notre Dame. The old version with Charles Laughton. He had such a love for his bells and moved among them like a dancer. Do you enjoy wind chimes and bells in your home? The picture is from Wallpapers.com

That Myanmar bell would need a very strong structure to support it.

We used to live one street away from a church that had bells. I used to love to listen to them. Have a good day.

I wonder how many different shapes were tested before the first bell-makers found the ideal shape?
