I will never understand why anyone who have an emu as a pet since they are hard to keep as a pet not to mention the costs of feeding the animal who is a native of Australia was seen running in the streets of Hot Springs Village. Hot Springs Village Animal Control said on social media that the loose emu was caught by their employees and the emu is going to be reunited with his or her owner as soon as possible. The catch of the emu took place on Monday November 18. Hopefully the owner of the emu can reunite with his or her pet soon. Link is upi.com/2491732120178 via @upi

Emus are huge birds, and they are strong. They can literally break bones. I don't think I would want to be raising any, no matter where I lived.

I used to live across from an emu farm. Not one of them ever escaped, yet you read all the time of loose emus roaming around various parts of the country.

Same with me since I would not to have an emu who could break my bones.

@AmbiePam As you know, we had the very elusive emu on the run here for nearly 2 years. To this day, no one can figure out how it survived, but evidently they are very smart.

Why do they have it in the first place?

I have no idea why anyone would want an emu as a pet in Arkansas.

An emu should be in Australia or in a big zoo.

I am in agreement with you that emu should be in the open field.

You have to watch it with emus. They kick hard- I think sideways. Years ago a lady was raising emus to sell for meat. One of the birds kicked her and broke her leg.

And I thought horses were dangerous to have as a pet.
