After a string of beach visits, we decided to do an evening walk at a nearby Natural Reserve which had a small lake. It was great seeing the setting sun shed it's light through the trees onto the lake and lakeside. Lots of bird noises and minimal traffic sounds - absolute bliss. We even saw a few kangaroos. The place was 20 minutes away from home.

Yes, it was lovely. It's right next to residential suburbs and yet it seems so isolated.

@pitstop Were there any mosquitoes? That's sometimes a downside to areas where there is water.

That is a good and serene surroundings. Sometimes I also like going to such places for a calming experience.

@pitstop For us, it would be at least 200 to 250 Km travel to scenic places to get such a calm.
