we don't make it because we don't celebrate, but it does seem like a fun activity

Just because you don't celebrate Christmas is no reason not to try some of the activities if they sound fun to you.
(I promise not to tell anyone if you find a recipe for gingerbread online and try making a gingerbread man or gingerbread house.
)
I don't like gingerbread but you might. Most people enjoy eating it.

@DaddyEvil hahah i love gingerbread, i made it many times with my mom - it looked like this in the photo and had melted chocolate on top
however, gingerbread houses were never a thing in Bosnia. even people who celebrate Christmas don't make gingerbread houses, they just put up tree decorations. i decorated a tree and made Christmas cookies with my friend who celebrates it. i even sang in church on Christmas Eve.
all of it is really lovely, but i don't celebrate it and it makes no sense to me to do it on my own, without anyone else who actually celebrates it. it's a bit lonely here Mr. DE

That is a pretty one in the photo! This was never a tradition when I was growing up. I always thought it would be fun and my daughters and I made one when they were growing up. They didn't seem enthralled and didn't ask to do it again so we didn't.

Making and displaying gingerbread houses is common in my part of the US. I didn't like gingerbread so we never made one, though.
Will you and your children make one this year?
