I am hopeful

I want a snow day on Monday. I am hopeful, even though the snow has not yet started here. I had a big pot of mostly broth from my ham and navy beans. I added rice into it to cook, and we at ham slices with it for lunch. With red cabbage and homemade cranberry sauce. There is enough left I packed four lunches for next week for work. I also packed servings of canned green beans. So that could easily be lunches for Tuesday through Friday. It is nice to have that done. We do not have any visible precipitation yet, but I am pretty sure it is icy out. Jane lives about 20 miles from here and they have ice already. Besides cooking and being online I have done a little kitchen organizing and I completely dumped and cleaned out a top dresser drawer. I am using a cutlery tray for dividers in it. There are spots now for hair fixing items and nail care, etc. It is a good New Year's type activity to do. January will seem to fly by quickly, I think, with all the weather interruptions. I can tell the days are getting a little longer now again as well. All in all I am in a good mood, just pondering and organizing. It is great.
