Tom spent over 2 hours on hold with the Social Security Customer Service trying to change his address. I was on MY phone waiting as well. I finally gave up after an hour...thank goodness for headsets. I cleaned the one closet out while waiting for them to answer. I told my friend, Mary, If she ever had some extra time, she could call the Social Security office and listen to music and hear how they really care about you. Ever so often the music stops and you think you are about to speak to someone...then..a voice apologizes for your wait, and it tells you how you are so important to them. LMAO! I went to the website and tried to change my address there. Answered a lot of questions, typed in 2 codes they sent me, but you can NOT change your address on the website. You have to call them.

I fell asleep while waiting for someone at the social security to take me off hold, and got the shock of my life when a real person actually started talking.

We are dealing with them now and trying to get the hubster all signed up for medicare. That is also a nightmare. He has made three trips to the office now and last one resulted in "you have to set up an appointment for a phone call for them to take your application over the phone." Really? Why didn't you say that the first time?

I ran into this when changing my email address on certain sites....get a code, enter a code, get another code, enter a code, verify the new address....it's ridiculous. Have a good weekend.

Always fun to hear, "Your call is important to us," when you sit waiting and waiting and waiting for someone to emerge on the other end. Beyond that, anyone else notice that all call centers have been experiencing higher than usual call volumes for at least 30 years. You'd think that would have slowed down a bit after all this time.
