Hey, I got my taxes done yesterday! The online service I used told me I “rocked it,” completing things in less than 25 minutes. What’s to do, here’s my retirement pension, here’s my deduction, what do I owe. So while that is out of my hair for another year I’ll give you another person who left us in 2024.
Donald Sutherland, CC
This guy was in two of my favorite “war” movies, M*A*S*H (he was the original Hawkeye Pierce) and The Dirty Dozen. He also did a ton of other movies and TV roles (he had a pre-“stardom” role as the bad guy in an episode of The Champions). Oh, and he gave us Kiefer Sutherland, too.
Although Donald Sutherland was never nominated for an Oscar, he was given an honorary Academy Award in 2017. He did win two Golden Globes and an Emmy.
An absolute great in acting, he did everything from high drama (roles in JFK and The Hunger Games) to the pot-smoking professor in Animal House. He was a true legend, and he will be sorely missed.

I always enjoyed his performances. He was good in MASH and Little Shop of Horrors. It was named something else. The sci-fi with the pods. Those are the only ones I remember him in.

He was an infinitely better Hawkeye than Alan Alda was on the TV show.

Happier that I don’t owe anything this year!
Donald had a great variety of role, and he was simply brilliant and believable in every single one of them.

Loved him! He also if I recall correctly was investigated for ties with Jane Fonda when she was protesting the Vietnam war.

Yes, he was. He was an anti-war protester himself. Hard to believe that the FBI investigated a Canadian….
