I Just Learned This About Bees

You know the old term "the bee's knees"? I always wondered if that was just a cute saying or if there was any truth to it. Well, come to find out bees really do have knees. Every bee has six legs. and each leg has a joint between the tibia and the femur. That is known as the knee. These knee joints are the segments that join the legs together. They also have hairs on them used to collect pollen. Gotta love those bees. The picture is from Pinterest.de

I think those hairs are what are referred to as 'pollen baskets'.
