Firefighters rescue a donkey that fell into a frozen pond

David and Angela Hohman who are residents of Cranberry Township called 911 to report to the Cranberry Township Volunteer Fire Company on Friday that their donkey Jill fell into a frozen pond near their home. The volunteer firefighters received assistance from the Sewickley Fire Department, the Beaver Falls Fire Department, water rescue specialists from Butler County Team 300 and Cranberry Township EMS to rescue the donkey by use of a harness and a rope to get the donkey out of the frozen pond. When the donkey was rescued from the frozen pond, the donkey needed to be taken to the barn and treated by a veterinarian and given a warm blanket to warm her up due to her exposure to the cold elements.
