The shooting occurred at Risbergska School for Adults in Orebro, Sweden. It is a campus also with schools for children. The school is on lockdown after a man in a mask entered and opened fire. Five people were shot and underwent surgery with the gunman being the fifth in the hospital. It is just unfortunate that school shootings continue even in Europe. Later still it was said that around ten people were shot and that this is the worst mass shooting in the history of Sweden.

Mental illness is not limited to the United States.

@AmbiePam I pray for all concerned but also pray this does not happen in Latvia, If it did most probably in the capital Riga. My little stepgrandchild just started school at 5 years.

How very awful. To target our youth, our future, and those that teach and care for them, that is beyond comprehension for my mind.

@TheHorse I agree, although, we have always had mental health issues over the generations, but we have never had such powerful weapons available to the general public where the mental health of 1 can affect so many more by the shootings.

I generally assume mental health issues are involved.

How awful. Mass shootings are extremely uncommon in Nordic countries.

The shooter is "out of his mind" to perpetrate such a heinous crime on the innocents.

it happened here too, a month or 2 ago but everyone survived, luckily. it was a 19-year old boy, struggling mentally and who just went into a primary school and started shooting. yes, strange wave of rising violence. feeling chills on my body.

I've heard of this in the news, I was surprised but not too much because Sweden is no longer a safe place with riots and no-go zones. However, the unrest would affect bigger cities while this school shooting took place in a smaller one.
