Mule rescued by animal control officers who was stuck in mud

Animal rescuers from the Washington State Animal Response Team as well as veterinarians worked together to rescue a mule that was stuck in mud to the knees of the animal on Tuesday February 11. The mule was trapped in a muddy pasture with many sinkholes. The rescuers used plywood to create platforms so they could approach the animal to see if the animal was in good condition before they used water to loosen the mud so they could outfit the mule with rescue straps.to get the mule off of the mud and into solid ground. The mule was able to stand up on his or her own feet after 30 minutes. How the did the mule fall into the mud is not known. Thank goodness the mule is in good condition after the rescue.
