Donuts Anyone?

Food and Wine Magazine recently took on the challenge of finding the best donuts in every state in America. They didn't have to look far here in the Gem state. Downtown Boise is home to Idaho's best donut place, Guru Donuts. They have a great selection of vegan, gluten-free, and cake donuts. They have a biscuit donut that Food and Wine liked. It has a buttery texture with a light airiness. And they top it off with their house honey butter glaze. Yum! They use potato flour which gives anything you bake with it a unique flavor. No, I haven't tried any yet. I have been looking for a place that sells my favorite which is the cake donut rolled in cinnamon and sugar. I also like maple bars and the ones with the cream inside. I hope to check them out soon. Do have a favorite donut? The picture is from thenovicechefblog.com

I never ate a donut I truly liked, but I haven't had many during my whole life either. I usually don't like fried sweet foods, but I think donuts can be baked too, or can they? Are donuts from the oven really donuts? The biscuit donut sounds interesting though.

You are lucky. I like all the yummy, sugary stuff. Anything I shouldn't eat I am into.

@celticeagle Aww! I’ve been working on healthy sweet alternatives so I don’t crave the unhealthy anymore. But I’m afraid I might “relapse” if I have a bite of what I used to eat.

I am not a huge donut fan, they are deep fried, and the thought of that turns me off.

I do too. All but those big ones with the sugar sauce on them. I don't care for those.

Krispy Kreme is a ripoff. All air and very little substance. I haven't tried the others.
