Wednesday Roared In This Week

Sparta, Tennessee

So it was quite a night. We had a raging storm that gradually came in. We started with the wind that picked up as the day went on. Then the rain came in. We lost power for a few hours around 11 which meant we didn't get much sleep. Not much sleep doesn't equal a whole lot in my world. The transformer blew at his work so he's off but I still get to go. I'm pretty sure Chris will be one of the first ones at the marina to asses the damage there so I'll be going in to sit with Grandmom as usual. When the sun comes up we'll travel the road and make sure we can get out but I'm pretty sure we can. So today my routine won't change much other than damage assessment and seeing if there was any. I hope not because we've had enough bad luck lately. Soon I'll be writing about football :) if anyone has read past posts y'all know that I love football and will write about anything I can about the sport. With the combine, we're prepping for the draft and I'm super excited. I know this is definitely shorter than usual but I still need coffee lol. What is everyone else up to?

I hope that there is not much damage. Have a good Wednesday. It's 4:43 PM here and one of the youth cancelled his therapy at the last moment due to his sickness. I am waiting for the next child who will come around 5:15.

Hopefully things go well for you :) fingers crossed the damage is minimum. I'll start messaging people in about an hour to see if everyone made it through ok.

Glad you accomplished a lot in the past few days so you can take a break to some extent. I mean, damage assessment doesn't earn pennies. Hopefully it doesn't steal any either, that'd be a shame.

Very true. The last wind that came through here it wasn't bad but we were cleaning up some minor trees in the road on our way out. I'm hoping that's about all it is today but we won't even start until the sun comes up. By then I should know if I'm going to work because I found out Dale Ridge, the road Chris goes down to get to the marina has a bunch of trees down as well. It's going to be a day that's for sure.

Hope the storm didn't cause any damage. Losing power and sleep is bad enough. That storm is heading our way and the wind is already gusting this morning. Rain coming and possible thunderstorm by mid-afternoon. I'm just hoping we don't lose power and that the storm won't be as bad as they're saying.

We've had worse but they always seem bad when you're in them. I'm glad I went to fix the tarp on my babies though. The wind had blown it almost all the way off the pen and I wasn't going to fix it but it was a gut feeling that I should. I'm really glad I did. I had dry babies this morning.
