So, I bought Nico a toy several months ago. It might have been for his birthday or Christmas, I don't even remember when. It is one of those self rolling balls, which I thought was really pretty cool. It rolled away somewhere under some furniture and I never saw it again. However, it miraculously appeared a few days ago. I got it out today and gave it to kitty who seemed pleased with it. He always has some understanding of what I say..when I say "Go get the toy"..he does, not bringing it to me, but chasing it as you do with a ball.

@rakski he's pretty good about coming when he is called, but the times he doesn't I also picture him saying "kitty is busy, very busy." Sometimes though I know kitty is just lazy.

They also like crumpled paper in the shape of a ball. They will bat that around.

Cats are really good at losing/hiding toys!
My neighbor has two cats. One of them LOVES aluminum foil. If she gets it out to use it on a dish, the cat flips out and goes crazy! She has to make him a ''tin foil ball'' that he can bat around. He loves this, he bats it until he is so exhausted, he has to take a nap. She has provided those two cats with every toy available, but still, he prefers his tin foil balls.

They are like kids in that regard. Buy them an expensive toy, and they prefer the box..or bag it came in

Not super playful now because he almost 7..but will play when he gets in the mood.
