Nice bankers.

The financial institution with which I conduct my main banking has just bought over another institution which is pleasingly lucrative. As the bankers rub their hands in glee they have come to the sweet conclusion that they ought to share the good fortune with their customers, and so a pot of money has been set aside for that purpose. This is a happy thing, because I meet the criteria for a payout. On the down side, 12 million other customers also meet the criteria, so each person is receiving £50. Well £50 is £50, and for some people it could make a big difference.

That's a nice little perk. Could pay for a dinner out.

For me it is not about receiving money but the dealaings with one of my banks gives me peace. The bank manage is very friendly and in fact I get calls from her just to enquire how things are.

I’m not a member of that institution, but I’ve read about it. Well done! In the past I have switched bank accounts and received hundreds of pounds over the years. I don’t know where they get the money from to fund this. They must have a magic money tree.

@orson_kart Don’t worry, it’s not theirs: they’re just giving us back our own money.

Even if it's small, a refund would be great.
