On a South Korean island off the southwestern coast, Banwol, everything revolves around the color violet. All items are painted lilac inspired by native purple bellflowers and lavender fields of New England Astors.
400 buildings, old-style telephone boxes, and even a bridge are all painted shades of lilac.
This is part of a tourism project. It has drawn over 487,000 visitors since 2019.
