On a South Korean island off the southwestern coast, Banwol, everything revolves around the color violet. All items are painted lilac inspired by native purple bellflowers and lavender fields of New England Astors. 400 buildings, old-style telephone boxes, and even a bridge are all painted shades of lilac. This is part of a tourism project. It has drawn over 487,000 visitors since 2019.

Chefchaouen, also known as the "The Blue pearl" or “Blue City,” stacked beneath the mountains of northwest Morocco. It is called the Blue City because all of the homes are painted blue including some streets and the walls.
