Good afternoon from this side of the planet. It's 2:30 PM here and it's bright and sunny outside. My house has a wonderful ventilation and cross ventilation. You get enough light from morning sunrise to sunset. And enough breeze if there is one outside. Our city has pleasant weather throughout and so I hardly need to put the lights on or fan( the breeze keeps coming from windows) for that matter. But then global warming and climate change has not spared us either. In the last couple of years, we do get some hot days that feels like summer from North India. Urbanization, cutting of trees and unstructured planning is big to blame. We had some rain and pleasant weather here last week. But from yesterday it's hot and one can feel it as soon as it's 10 AM. The pleasant morning suddenly becomes hot. I am alone in home as I am only one with vacation. I will have my students coming for therapy from 4:15. I have two hours before that to relax and catch my routine power nap. I am here lying on the couch mylotting from my phone. I will get the nap in some time on the couch itself. I have drawn drapes and blinds to block the sun and the house is cooler than yesterday. Yesterday with everything open, it was heated up and we could sense that even late in the night. I should make it a habit to do so on days like this. Drawing drapes reminds me of a cute funny story of Amelia Bedalia, the household help. My daughters loved it when they were young and still young children enjoy it when I read to them in the classroom. Amelia Bidelia was asked to draw the drapes when the sun gets hot in the afternoon. She actually took pen and paper and drew the drapes of the house . The story has few such incidents of her taking the instructions in a very funny way. How is the weather at your end? Have a good time in your myLot corner. Stay happy and healthy.

Seems the weather is being discussed these days as it is not normal. It rained here a few days ago and destroyed the zinnia saplings I had transplanted.

Yes, nothing is going as normal and expected. It's another hot day here. We had rain for two days, but then the heat is back again. The blooms in my garden are getting fewer and fewer with this summer and heat. Plants are withering despite regular watering.

Here we have hot days.Nights are even hotter.Half an hour back the wind suddenly started blowing fast. We were shaken by the thunder and lightening. But within half an hour it all stopped. Now the wind is slow.No thunder and no lightening either.

Oh! I see. If it will not rain well then humidity would be another problem, worst than the heat. I hope that it rains and you get some relief from the heat. We are still in April and peak summer is still far. Here, we got some good showers in the last few days. Temperatures have come down. But yes, it's very bright, sunny and hot in the afternoon and we need to draw the drapes.

@arunima25 There are no signs of rain now Humidity has made it impossible for us to sit or walk or go anywhere I have just taken a cold bath. I have shut my store. I wonder what we are going to face in May.

@Shivram59 That's what makes it worse. I feel that humidity is a bigger culprit. We are having some good shower outside, it started a few minutes back. I can feel the cold breeze.

I'm sure that is a very funny book. Some people just see things differently. I rarely open the blackout curtains through our house. The bright sun hurts my eyes and can heat up the house even on colder days. I only turn on lights after the sun goes down. I did open the drapes in my bedroom several days lately so I could watch the lightning during the flooding storms we had last week and over the weekend. I love watching lightning! Right now, it's 4:25 am and dark here. The sun will come up around 7 am. Our temps have been cold to cooler (Below freezing to 15C by late afternoon.) but we thankfully didn't get very much snow over the weekend. I have a chiropractor appointment this morning to check on the adjustment to my left hip and leg. The electric jolt (sciatica) I'd been having has stopped. I hope you enjoy your night and the rest of the week.

This one is indeed very funny book.. she interprets instructions in her own way and there are several such silly incidences.. Children love those silly things that she does and laugh loud. They would always request for this story. Good to keep them closed if your eyes are hurt by light. I have a habit of opening all the drapes and windows and doors as soon as I get up. I have mosquito nets installed on each one, so only fresh Breeze comes in and not flies and mosquitoes. I love to get morning fresh air and light in the room. Today is another hot sunny day and drapes are drawn again Seems like we too would get a hot summer here. I enjoy lightning too but not when it becomes too loud and scary. Hope that all was good with your chiropractor appointment.

@arunima25 We have high winds today. They're gusting up to 70 kph and have been since this morning. The wind is stirring up a lot of pollen from the trees as well as pollen from the grass. I'm allergic to both kinds. My nose is stuffed up and my eyes won't stop streaming. It's really fun! Thank you. I hope you're enjoying the rain on your terrace garden.

@DaddyEvil Oh! I am sorry about that. Please do all that you can to keep them away. I hope that all you need in case a bad allergy happens is with you( medicatioy, shots etc). Please take care of yourself. The heat was really harsh on the plants. These showers have been a blessing. Many plants are revived. My garden looks happy

@TheHorse We got some rain in the last two three days, so that big chore of watering the pots was saved. The plants too are happy after these showers. Some have revived.

And here it is quite hot for this time of the year. In fact my city never used to get heat and stayed pleasant even in the peak summer. I fear that it won't be like that this year. I can see a harsh summer for us.. The book has quite a few incidents like that where Amelia just takes the instructions in very funny way. Children have a good laugh when I read it to them.

Here, it's unusually hot this year. It's another sunny hot day and I have drawn the drapes again. Seems like the summer would be very harsh this year. I hope that you get some pleasant warmer days there soon. The story of Amelia is actually very funny with few similar incidences. Children have a good laugh when I read it to them.

After the weather we had of storms and tornados, it was nice to see the sun yesterday and it warmed up to be in the 50's. It dropped down into the 20's last night...the sun is out today but still only 32 this morning.

I love my home. It's my comfort home and I like it for all the ventilation and views that we get. Two of our balconies have the view of swimming pool and beautiful green landscape around it. I am very regular to watching sunset and sunrise. I love them.

I had some Amelia books but my character was Amelia Jane. I remember one was Amelia Jane Goes to the Jumble Sale. It's good that the house is designed to have good ventilation.

I might have read that Amelia Jane... it's been long. This one is funny. Amelia Bedelia interprets instructions in funny ways, there are few such silly incidences in the story which make children laugh. They enjoy this book. I am really happy about my house having very good ventilation. Well, today is another hot sunny day and drapes are drawn.

Yeah.. Ventilation is very important for the house. Here I am staying in a rental home. But there is no option for ventilation. Bathroom is built without windows.

Oh! That must be tough to stay without ventilation. Are you planning to shift anytime sooner? Bathroom without any windows sounds bad. Sometimes builders and owners don't take into consideration the basic minimum requirement.
