I saw this movie years ago now. I saw it advertised in an email from Tubi and decided to watch it for about the third time. I think the Japanese have such interesting beliefs and traditions much like the Native Americans here in the West.
The story is of a young girl who is given away as money for her poor family. Her rise to become a geisha is quite an adventure.

Often the book is better. I wonder if it is in this case.
