Chairs and cobwebs

The bush poetry and music session in Dinninup, Western Australia, didn’t last very long but later in the afternoon, everyone went down to the town hall and several enjoyed dancing to a couple of square dance numbers. They mostly used CDs for music but later they also played several old-times dances to music from an accordion, autoharp and guitar. Vin and I were able to join in with those even though we were wearing sneakers. Before the dancing started, we had to look in all the nooks and crannies in the hall to find enough chairs for those who didn’t want to dance and I took this photo of the cobweb clinging to one of the chairs. I guess the spider had departed so no-one got bitten.

No-one bothered to check for cobwebs. It's a wonder there weren't more.

Here, I'd be more worried about the dust on the chair than a spider. Spiders here just want to get away from humans, not eat them. I'm glad you and Vince enjoyed the dancing even if you were wearing sneakers.

Our spiders aren't intent on eating people either. I think the chairs got dusted as people sat on them. lol

@JudyEv Uh huh... that's what you say on myLot... I bet if we came to visit, you'd hand us elephant rifles and explain to watch out for spiders!

That sounds like such a charming and down-to-earth afternoon. I bet the music from the accordion, autoharp, and guitar gave the hall a warm, nostalgic vibe too

I didn't see a spider and by the state of the web I think the spider had gone to make another somewhere.

It needs darning though, doesn't it? There is a big hole in the middle.

Very definitely but they probably won't be used again for at least six months.

Thankfully it cannot be the home of Sydney funnel-web - a very poisonous variety.

I think the spider was long gone. No self-respecting spider would leave its web like this. lol
