Members of the Colleton County Fire Rescue team located in South Carolina answered to an emergency call on Friday morning April 18 that a father and his two sons who aboard a kayak and canoe became entangled when A tree fell on them and caused them to fall into the Edisto River. The firefighters sent two boats at two landings called Jimbo and Salcro Lane to rescue the trio who were found between the two landings in about one hour. The trio were taken by the firefighters to the Salcro Lane Landing and checked out for a case of mild hypothermia. The firefighters then were able to unwedge the boats from the fallen tree and gather some of their belongings back to the trio. The trio were able to recover from the effects of hypothermia while they were inside of a medical vehicle and returned to their vehicle safe and sound. Link is msn.com/en-us/news/us/...

Kayaks are rather scary. They had a canoe too? A tree falling on them doesn't help.

Having a tree fall on your kayak wouldn't happen too often.

That is true even though the weather in the area was bad with windy conditions.
