Hello everyone. I hope your day is off to a good start. It is 50 degrees F and sunny here at the Jersey Shore. The high for today is 65. I'll take it though I'm definitely ready for warmer temperatures.
I woke up around 7am this morning. Oh the alarm going off at 5:30am tomorrow is going to suck.
Claire and Adso were sleeping on the bed with me. (Adso won't allow Charlie in the bedroom because he is a bully) I don't know what Adso's deal is. I have a queen-sized bed and live alone so he has 3/4 of the mattress to use. . . but he insists on sleeping right up against me whether it is along my side or between my feet. Crazy cat.
No big plans for the day other than some meal prep for the week's breakfasts and lunches. I am hoping that my ex stops by but you never know with him. He is entirely unpredictable. I need to do stupid lesson plans. I'm starting evolution with the students tomorrow. That is always a fun topic. My head always wants to explode when I ask what the first living things on Earth were and inevitably someone in every class says "Adam and Eve". There is testing this week too so that's always a good time.
I will lose at least half of my general-level class this week as they are juniors. Still I can't stand still or tread water--I *have* to move forward with the curriculum or I won't get it finished by mid-June.
What's everyone else up to today?

Teaching is one of those few careers out there where you have to actually work outside of work in order to get your work done. I guess that kind of sucks. Teachers don't get paid enough as is, and then are expected to work "off the clock" in order to keep up with the job requirements. I wish you the best of luck with the lesson plans.
Evolution aside, if people say that Adam and Eve were the first living things on earth based on the Creation story, they are still incorrect. Adam and Eve were the last living things that God created, based on the story in Genesis.

@NJChicaa So you found something that works for you, and also works for your supervisor as well. Awesome!

My lesson plans are vague as hell and go for 7 days at a block. The former science supervisor didn't want to have to deal with reading individualized daily lessons from 60+ people each week. He wanted "unit plans" so we started doing that. Now we have a building supervisor who taught history so he wouldn't understand most of what I was writing anyway. I just continued doing the general long-term plans and he has never complained or criticized.

I wish you didn't have to do work outside work.
Up early here, you know the drill in this stinking apartment.
Not long now and we'll be out of here to somewhere.
Have a lovely day now there Chicaa.
