We're having a thunderstorm right now, and I'm so happy to be savoring the smell of rain. We've been dealing with hot days for over a month now. Weather bureau says the heat index will be higher next month. Oh dear. I'm just thankful for this quick thunderstorm.
I'm currently doing some online work here in my daughters' room. There's AC here so it's quite comfortable.

It has been raining here just for a few hours since the last few days I am happy as it saves us from watering the garden

Your plants must be very happy. I would love an occasional downpour, but I dread the typhoon season. My succulents have been properly laid out in our two balconies; I don't want to move them elsewhere (as there's no other space to move them into) when typhoons come. Many of them have well-draining soil mix, so I'm hoping they'd survive days of rain if ever.

That's good to know Sis. Some places in our country are suffering from too much heat. It's also hot in our place but that was just a little over a month because it was still raining here until early part of March this year. As of now, it started to rain again.

Rain always smells good!
I'm glad you have an air conditioner so you aren't dying of the high heat there.

That word in English is petrichor but only a scientist would use it.
If you posted a discussion on myLot and asked, and anyone else knew the word, I'd be shocked!
Edit to add: I only know the word because I'm a nerd and like learning weird/unusual stuff.

@DaddyEvil Thankful for word nerds like you! Petrichor? I can't even mince the origin of the word by myself.
Good to know there's an English term for it.

It's the first downpour in weeks, so the smell is a mix of fresh raindrops and musty earthy something. I don't know if there's an English term for this. In our native language, we call it 'alimuog'
