The housing fireworks started around 7 am this morning. I was thinking about trying to doze for another ten minutes. Beau Teak was sneezing on me. Then Rufus started barking and barking.
Yup. The Roofer crew had arrived. It is just after 6 right now. They are here still, banging away. I think they are leaving soonish. I wonder when they will appear tomorrow? I don't think they have too many hours before they are finished putting a new roof on this old dame.
It's been an interesting day. A man from the city appeared mid morning to talk to the head Roofer about being legal. Then a giant semi type truck arrived with roofing material. He had a conveyer type gizmo that zipped material to the guys on the roof- that extended over the front porch.
It will be grand to have the roof done. The Roofers laid down tarps so that a lot of the debris fell onto that. A man stayed on the ground and packed and picked up roof messes. One of their trucks is basically a garbage toter. I am sure the ground will have nails etc. on it but there has been a big effort to not leave piles of torn shingles etc. all over the place. They appear to be hard workers, too.

@sallypup I would too, if there was more damage. We have scam artists approachings us all the time, trying to sell us on a new roof.

@kaylachan Last year my hubby basically told a roofing company rep to shut up and get out.

Our roof was finished in one day. They had a roll thing that was suppose to pick up all the nails. They did get a lot but there was some that were left behind. So look around after they leave to make sure there are no nails to go through your shoes.

That truck sounds interesting. I had my roof replaced once, and they used no such gizmo. It was a small business though

My roof was done in one day; and they cleaned up really well. I won't have to worry about leaks for the rest of my life!
