That loud noise you heard last night was me. That’s when I saw the news that Warren Zevon has been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
He’s been inducted in the “influence” category.
Other inductees include the LONG-overdue inductions of Chubby Checker, session musician Carol Kaye (one of the few female session musicians from the 60s and 70s), and Nicky Hopkins (session piano player), and other inductees such as R&B songwriter/producer Thom Bell, 70s band Bad Company, Joe Cocker, Soundgarden, Cyndi Lauper, and the White Stripes.
Rounding out the Class of 2025 are OutKast, Salt-n-Peppa, and Warner Brothers A&R man Waronker.
Can’t believe Zevon’s finally inducted!!!! Yahoo, werewolves of London.
@TheHorse shares my delight.
Zevon’s great song “Searching for a Heart”:

The only name out of that I recognized at all was Cyndi Lauper and I couldn't name a single song she's done. *shrug*
Oh, and, of course, pony.

I always say “Werewolves” wasn’t even the best song on the 45.

That was another one of those “what took you so long” inductions, along with Chubby Checker.
