Change of hands

Solitaire needs change of hands. No one in the family has interest as they are all scattered all over and their interest is not in owning a property but may be live in spacious flats or leaving the country seeking better prospects elsewhere in the world
One member in the family gave it a try but did nothing. It is now back to square one
There is a Trust run by nuns who has shown interest and we are moving in that direction I will be a Trustee there so that I have full insight into what happens when they take over
Wish me good luck

I think that you have made a right decision. Let's hope all goes well. I can understand that it must be a tough decision to make, but then the right one seeing the circumstances. Wishing you all the best

I will be included in the Trust and that will give me access to whatever is happening
I think many properties are left fallow as there are none to care for them.

@allknowing That's good.
Yes, that is the story everywhere. The next generation keeps moving away and building their own lives. That's how life goes these days.

I do not think anyone else has such thoughts. The Trust will be a perpetual arrangement as if this Trust has no interest they have to pass it on to any other Trust with similar objectives. We are not selling it and they too cannot sell.

@allknowing - We preferred to sell, as we had to move because of my husband health.

@Shiva49 When I saw a property very next to ours so badly neglected - with trees dying, etc. I did not want that to happen to ours.

@allknowing I see in Kerala, land and houses empty for years and owners waiting for manna to fall from heaven.
They are hoping against hope but the reality is the younger generation is seeking newer pastures outside the state/country all the time.

I think you are staying in that house where would you to if you hand it over to the nuns?
