It used to be name your own price for flights hotel etc. I am considering the possibility of flying up for my dad's birthday/ Father"s day. I would love to save a few bucks in the flight..thinking Looeyville might have an idea about that

Not only have I never used it I have not even heard of it. So I guess that means I cannot help you at all or make any suggestions about this How far away from you is your Dad? Maybe you could drive.

I don't think I trust this new car to go all the way up there as you have to cross some medium tall mountains. If it was flat I might try it. I would have to go with friend who would allow me to take his car, but the problem is not only he comes but his dog. It's a strain.and I will be going up in August for another event.

I was reading about it. They don't allow you to name your own price anymore.

It used to allow you to name your own price for a trip, but not anymore.

@snowy22315 - Tomorrow is Labor Day here in Europe, most airline companies have doubled their prices for this long weekend.

Oh I will probably go one way or another. I could probably ride up with nephew if he doesn't plan on being gone too long.

I can't help with Priceline but hope you find a good deal and can fly up to see your dad instead of driving.

There are a lot of cut-rate sites. I've never used Priceline or any site such as that. Expedia, kayak and hotwire are some of the others.

There are quite a few you are right. Travel Zoo also has some good deals.

I have not used priceline. There you have to bid on your flights and prices. I use Expedia to check flight times and prices, but more often than not I find it less expensive to book directly through the airline I'll be using.

They don't allow you to bid on your flights anymore which is a shame. It set the site apart from the others
