Hopefully a 'before' photo

The photo shows an area at my niece’s where I intend to plant some vegetable seedlings. Hopefully, at the end of our stay here I’ll be able to show you an ‘after’ photo.
There is shade-cloth over the area to keep the fierce summer sun from burning the plants but now that summer is over, the plants will need as much as they can get so tomorrow I’ll take the shade-cloth down. Her Dad says it’s okay to take it down as I don’t want to upset my niece by rearranging too much of her garden.

@JudyEv I was hoping to plant my bush beans soon, but I guess maybe the seeds are too old. They are refusing to germinate..

@snowy22315 I've known of some very old seeds that did germinate but I guess many have a use-by date.

Her father assures us that she'll be pleased to see some vegie plants. I guess if she's not happy we won't get asked to house-sit again.

I've planted lettuce and silver beet in troughs but might put some herbs in this garden.

I don't think she will mind when she sees beautiful plants in there.

We only took down one section of shade-cloth. The other is attached too well so we don't think they'd want it taken down. I've planted six lettuce and six rainbow chard (silver beet).
