Thanks so much for traveling with me through the past as I celebrate my birthday with songs that are as old, or older, than I am. I do this every year because it’s fun!!! There’s one more year to celebrate. This one is extremely significant for me. It’s the year I started listening to rock and roll in earnest. And wow, what a year 1975 was to pick for that transition from Buck and Merle!!! This teaser (“Sweet Thing” by Rufus and Chaka Khan) is a good example of what I mean. Remember this song when the country music pops up. And, as always, this doesn’t mean to make you old. Yes, these songs are now half a century old, but they’re timeless, not “old.” Get ready for one more trip in the way-back machine!

Oh yeah, “Tell Me Something Good” is probably their best known song.

I actually got to meet Chaka in the 70's when I was doing my radio gig!! She was so nice! If I remember correctly there was a big party that night after her concert. But I don't remember it very well. I had a little too much to drink!

@FourWalls That was the first night that I did not get home before my curfew time! But it was all worth it!

This is a new song for me, I like it. I am OLD, I love songs and music from the fifties and sixties.

Living above my best friends grown up sons I refer to myself as the old bat in the attic Funny how life is my friend passed two years ago and now her husband is recovering in a rehab and I came to relive the good old days with my friend,

I don't recognize this song; but I love the 70's music. I always wanted to open up a disco club in the 2000's. All of us old codgers I'm sure would love to rehash old times.

Hey, that’s a great idea! Instead of serving martinis you serve Geritol.

@FourWalls Yup. I think it would be popular for at least a couple of years.

Oh, the costumes in the 70s were the best. It’s like Bowie and Elton started a trend and everybody tried to keep up with them.
