More common sense was spoken today when a few of Britain’s sporting bodies declared that trans women could not compete or play in women’s teams. Trans groups are incensed, but a lot of women are relieved that they won’t face a woman with the strength of a man. Nor will they have to share changing facilities with people, many of whom still have a functioning male thingy down there, who would potentially be a threat. The tide seems to be turning on the excess of silliness that has been perplexing us.

Yeah, this is one of those areas were I am "Conservative." If I am a man who "identifies" as a woman, fine. But I'm still a man. I reckon I have been since about six weeks post-conception, according to the biologists.

@thehorse And it’s wrong that such a small minority of people should be able to impose their agenda on the majority. If someone is trans they are trans and I’ve no objection. Doesn’t mean we all have to get on board.

@xFiacre There are not that many guys wanting to play women's sports. The Democrats made a mistake, giving Republicans this "talking point," even though it is not relevant to most of our daily lives.

If the person still has the genetics of a male, then they shouldn't be allowed to compete against a genetic female. That's not a view that was regarded favorably for several years here but it's still the way I see things. I never understood why this was ever a "thing" in the US or other countries. And I'm hoping that genetics are used in the future to determine if a person is a "boy" or a "girl" when it comes to bathrooms and the way we address them. It gets too confusing for me to walk up to a person who is obviously male and then get in trouble for calling them mister or sir in a casual conversation.

@daddyevil Life’s hard enough without people adding in all this confusion.

I agree with not allowing them to play but such problems become a nightmare for the authorities.
