Police officers from Westchester County in New York answered a call on Thursday April 18 about an alpaca on the street who ran away from a trailer near a hotel. The alpaca was seen near a Land Rover dealership when the police officers were able to be captured and was taken to police headquarters where the alpaca was reunited with its owner. It is likely that the alpaca was at the home of its owner since a birthday celebration was taking place the day that the alpaca ran on the street. Link is upi.com/9841744993039 via @upi

A South American beauty. Isn't that where they come from?

@Deepizzaguy They are beautiful. I once went by bus up to the highest mount in Chile (in the Andes). First I saw llamas, then alpacas and high up vicuñas (these last ones are an endangered species).

Alpacas are quite expensive i think so the owner would have been pleased to have the alpaca captured and returned.

Another act of thoughtless carelessness, as the alpaca could not have been secured securely enough in the trailer, and so escaped, causing others to have to deal with the owner's carelessness.
