How’s that for a view?
Good evening, everyone. It’s about 7:30, and I just got back from dinner to my hotel room in Sevierville, Tennessee. Because I’m a loyal rewards member, I got a free upgrade…which means this view for the evening. 
I’m not going to the Smokies this time around, but I can sit here and admire them until the sun goes down!!
I’ll tell you about my exciting history lesson today a little later on.
Meanwhile, enjoy the view…and I only wish you could smell the comfortable, fresh air out here.

@MarieCoyle — one GREAT thing about being retired is I can go down on a Sunday afternoon and stay until Wednesday and generally have the place to myself.

That’s what I did yesterday evening…took a walk down to the river and just admired it, then came back and watched the sun set from the parking lot (my balcony faces south, so I couldn’t see that). Then I got to see the lightning in the distance when a thundershower went over the mountains. I was one happy camper.

I haven't been that way to Sevierville, Gatlinburg, or Pigeon Forge in about 25 years.

Pigeon Forge is a lot. More built up. The first half of Gatlinburg (from the city limits coming from Pigeon Forge to about the junction with 321) looks like a ghost town. About the only thing in the first half of the town is Hillbilly Golf and a new mountain coaster.
